The DX-CAD SDK lets you write plugins for DX-CAD in Python: new commands, menus and toolbars in the window, new kinds of part, tools for the Assistant and new drawing annotations. It contains the public plugin interface, a checker that tells you whether a plugin uses only that interface (dxcad-sdk check), a project template to start from, and its documentation.
DX-CAD's own add-ons, Fabrication and Drafting Pro, are built on the same interface.
Licence
The SDK is a separate work from DX-CAD, under the Apache License 2.0, given in its own LICENSE file. The DX-CAD licence agreement does not cover it.
The DX-CAD file format
The specification of DX-CAD's files (parts, assemblies and drawings) is published here with the SDK, so that other programs can read and write them. Section 3 of the licence agreement explains how it relates to your rights under the law.
